Body and soul of woman. So much within and so much without that sometimes it is difficult to know the direction of either. This image, while seemingly placid, has internal turmoil almost as if another being resides within. Much like certain times of my life and the life of every other woman. My work has been compared to that of the Mexican artist Tamayo, to DeKooning, and lately to "the feel and composition of an early Diebenkorn, during his Albuquerque series." (Werenko and Coombs, Kaleidoscope, July 31, 2008). This piece undoubtedly is closer to the DeKooning perception. For more of my work, see my website www.charlotteshroyer.com
