Playing with figurative art drawing at the beginning of my work session helps to loosen up the imagination and the brushes. Charcoal because of its immediacy and lack of preparatory gathering of materials is one of the easiest ways to start. I like to start with a few squiggles on the paper and see where it takes me. Is this imaged beguiling or beguiled? Whatever you may want it to be and/or what I want it to be. Regardless, it was fun to see what happened on the page.
Beguiled, Charcoal on Paper, 12 X 8 inches. Matted and unframed, $75; matted and framed, $110.
