Those who know me well know my love of France, the French people, and the French language. Many years ago as a junior at The Ohio State University, I was pressed by a counselor to select a major for my liberal arts program. Once a major in Journalism, I opted out thinking the only road open in that field was work at a newspaper with strange hours and extraordinary pressure to meet deadlines. The road to a major was not easy: Medical technology and classes in which my experiments did not work; Russian language, but not enough courses at the time to meet requirements for a major; etc. When pressed by the counselor, I could only think of how much I loved French literature and the language. Voila--I became a French major and graduated with a B.A. in French.
Today I still read the language and go to France when I can. Some of my paintings are reminiscent of this love and end up with titles, case in point.
