"Head Held High," Mixed Media Figurative Art

 

This piece started with a monotype, but as I looked at the monotype, I saw a need for more definition and more excitement eshroyer.com in the piece.  A bit of charcoal here, some pastels there and the piece began to take shape.  Maybe even a dab of oil paint.  "Head Held High" is a tribute to those people of the world who persist despite the tribulations of their lives.  Their inner dignity and power serves them well.
