This painting started with little or no "anachronistic" intent as much of my work does--first blobs of paint which then evolve into form, most often the form of the human face with variations. The mystical face in the back appeared first. There was no way I could deny his emergence nor his continued existence on the canvas. Hauntingly anachronistic from another time and/or place--where or when, I don't know. He was strange, but a beneficent "strange" almost as if protecting the beauty and being of his partner. The woman came next oblivious to his presence or is she? Which one is the anachronism? Are these anachronistic beings or states of
