Another of the monotype faces which I so enjoy doing. I have a feeling that this is only the beginning of more faces to come perhaps with a different twist to them. Larger? More abstract? Wilder colors? As anyone associated with an artist knows, artists evolve in ways that cannot be foreseen. There is always the next horizon, the next shape, the next direction. When the new direction presents itself, there is one one thing to do if one is true to himself or herself—follow it for growth and change.
Finding a new direction is so stimulating. How any artist can continue to do the same thing over and over for years is beyond me. Maybe his/her public will not let him change because of the money and acclaim. Or perhaps it is fear that puts the locks and chains on creative energy. I love to come up with something new and am looking for a way to say something different.
