As I painted this small image, I thought of ancient man of so many different cultures and modern man tuned into the song of contemporary technology. He is not quite a robot but a man influenced by technology but still holding onto his historical DNA of Romans, Mayans, and more.
I enjoy painting miniatures as much as large 4 feet pieces. Each satisfies a different part of my artistic sensitivity. To include a lot of pictorial information and at the same time psychic and historical information in such a small piece
Glyphic Man, Oil on Gessobord, 5” X 5” painted wood sides, $135 USD
becomes an exciting challenge. Interestingly enough, I use the same process for both. Nothing is preconceived—it just appears on the canvas.
