No trumpets can be heard, but the flags fly, and the commander heads the march into Rome. Victory somewhere in their conquering world. I didn’t start with the intent of moving the flags onto paper. In fact, I just placed printing inks on the plate, played around with color until I found a design I liked. It was only at a later time that I saw the face. What a wonderful sense of determination, achievement, and victory in that face.
