Taos Pueblo endures. It has endured for more than 1100 years and will continue to endure in spite of economic and social trends. Its people are strong and an important part of the heritage of New Mexico and the US. About 30 years ago, on an impromptu trip from Santa Fe to Taos Pueblo, I was taken with the age of existing pueblo "apartments" and was so excited to find a new wall being constructed of adobe bricks that I asked to buy a brick from the Native American worker. I still have that adobe brick never realizing how important a part of my life it would become. It "breathed" the aura of Taos into my soul and 19 years later long after the experience, I would be "brought" to Taos. And here I am!
