The first of a series of new monotyped faces in contemporary format. My faces have been likened to Picasso and Modigliani faces. I appreciate both of these artists,
but have not
created my work in their like. These faces just appear out of the stratosphere or should I say, out of my unconscious. So many years of observing nonverbal behavior in the faces of disability clients with whom I worked. This image is the ghost of Wondering, the original which has much heavier etching on it. To this piece I have added some charcoal and pastel to highlight and accentuate certain area.
I have included both the original and the ghost for comparison.
Wondering, Monotype Ghost with charcoal and pastel on newsprint, 16 X 6 (unframed image size), 21 X 11 (framed size), $160 USD (framed)
