In the early 90s I served as Executive Director of Careers Abound, a school to work program for physically disabled youth. Those years as valuable and as rewarding as they were had since been forgotten until I came across this Christmas card in my files. It immediately brought to mind the Hispanic youth so kind and so willing to design and silk screen Christmas cards to be sent to clients of the agency. We worked together to produce perhaps 40 to 50 cards. How have we forgotten the value of skills other than those taught in colleges and universities? Why does everyone need to go to college to be valued? I will never know whether this experience for this young man tweaked a desire to do something in the printing business. But at the time it was of value to the both of us and to the agency. Happy New Year.
